When addVice Marketing approached us about having a listening party for Caroline Distribution in the store we were a little apprehensive at first. Then they mentioned they were affiliated with one of our favorite magazines in the world, Vice. Then they mentioned free goodie bags for people who come and topped it off with free adult beverages and we were, like, heck yeah, we're down with that! So, swing on by the store on Friday, August 26th from 8pm until 11pm, pick up a goodie bag, have a Sparks or two and listen to new tracks by hot bands like New Buffalo, Warlocks, Cage, Broadcast and Mobius Band. 21 and over only, sorry to the young'uns.

Oizo had a great single out around Xmas called "stunt" that had a really great video that made absolutely no sense.

Speaking of Mute Records, I've been searching for a Mute compilation (that I think was cassette-only) from the early 90s with a song called "THE TRAIN SONG" from Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. Can anybody here help???

Mute was stocked heavily in my wax collection: Einsturzende Neubauten, Laibach, Nick Cave, Nitzer Ebb, Caberet Voltaire...

Warp Records was cool back in the day, too! Aphex Twin stuff, Red Snapper, Sabres of Paradise, even a Stereolab album on that label!!!

Old stuff is cool.
