The weather may be turning cold on us, but the gallery is still hot! We've got two new exhibits opening up soon and, as usual, we are really excited and honored to be showing some fantastic work.

First up is Seattle-based Jesse LeDoux. Jesse's got a great almost old-school style that we just can't get enough of. Amazing use of color and line, beautiful contrast and a touch of humor really set Jesse's drawings apart from the crowd. Toy collectors probably know Jesse best for his series "Critter Splitters" produced a few years back by Kidrobot...still some of our favorite blind boxes ever!

Chicago-based Veggiesomething is not only a talented character designer, he's a pretty awesome painter and graphic artist as well...and just happens to be one of our favorite people ever. Look for all kinds of madness (prints and paintings...maybe even some plush) from VGS, who is probably best known in the toy world for his "House of Liu" line produced by Hong Kong's Crazy Label.

It's probably worth mentioning, as well, that this is going to be one of those shows, we think, that will be not only budget friendly, but will feature a lot of stuff that would make great holiday gifts...*wink wink* ... thanks!

Opening is Friday, November 13 from 7pm until 10pm with music by the always entertaining Genghiswon. Both Jesse and Veggiesomething will be in attendance.

Looking forward to seeing lots of familiar and not-so-familiar faces!

If you're interested in purchasing work from this exhibit please sign up for our Gallery Previews email list here:

http://previews.rotofugi.com

The preview link goes out anywhere from 8-48 hours prior to the opening.

Both exhibits continue through November 29.

Thanks to David, Kirby and everyone else at Rotofugi! I'm really excited about the show (and daily visits to Hot Doug's while I'm in town!). It should be fun. Here's a small teaser of a few of the pieces in the show.

Jesse's Bio...FYI...

Born in Portland, Oregon, Jesse LeDoux worked for many years as an art director for Seattle-based Sub Pop Records where he created iconic album and poster artwork for such artists as the Shins ('Best album packaging' Grammy nominee for Chutes Too Narrow), Iron and Wine and Death Cab for Cutie before leaving in 2004 to focus on his client-based and personal work at LeDouxville. Parallel to working on commercial illustration and collaborative projects for such clients as Nike, Kidrobot, Giro, Penguin UK, Rome Snowboards and Target, he has exhibited internationally. Most recently, his work was included in the Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial (2007) and an installation at the University of Maryland (2008). A large-scale mural of his work can currently be seen in downtown Denver, Colorado. He currently lives and works in Seattle, WA.

RAD.

Great show yesterday guys.

One piece that really stood out to me from Jesse was the edition prints. The Pre-order picture just couldn't do it justice. When I walked up to it I was amazed by the ghosted/shinny line-work that was on the white background. The black dot entices you to come closer and when you do you get a whole nother surprise. Great Print!

My favorite from Veggiesomething was the collection of small, framed, one off screenprints. I am the proud new owner of #38. It is not often I can go to a gallery and have something in my price range! Since they are all different I REALLY wanted to get a set of three to display next to each other.

Again, Great show. One of my favorites

O ya, roto, where do you get those m&m cookies that have a million m&m's on each cookie?

Haha, the cookies came from Jewel-Osco I think!

Here's a photo of the Ledoux print in blacklight that I just shot...amazing!

I'm back in Seattle now and owe some SERIOUS thanks.

First off, to David, for asking me to show at the gallery in the first place.

Secondly, to Kirby and Whitney for allowing David to follow through with an idea as foolish as a show with me.

Third, to James for being an awesome show-mate. Truly a really nice guy.

Fourth, to Busy Beaver Buttons for setting up a Button-O-Matic machine in the gallery for me (and allowing me to throw a couple buttons with original art into the mix).

And lastly, to everybody who came to the opening. I had a lot of fun. It was a great mix of old friends and new faces.

I'm super happy with how the show turned out. Thanks a lot!
